John Isner says Novak Djokovic is "an easy pick" for the third-best player in 2025 after the Serbian tennis giant managed to reach the semifinal stage in all four Grand Slams.

As was the case in 2024, Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner completely dominated the Grand Slam scene and each won two Majors this year.

Outside of Alcaraz and Sinner, Djokovic had the most consistent Grand Slam year. At the Australian Open, the former world No. 1 even managed to beat the Spaniard before a hamstring injury sustained during that match forced him to retire against Alexander Zverev in the semifinal. The Serb picked up back-to-back Major semifinal defeats to Sinner at the French Open and Wimbledon, before exiting the US Open in the same stage following a defeat to Alcaraz.

While Djokovic's only two titles of the year came at the ATP 250 category in Geneva in Athens, it should be noted that the 38-year-old didn't really play much this year - he skipped a couple of Masters events, as well as the ATP Finals. The record 24-time Grand Slam winner finished the year ranked at No. 4 in the world.

Isner names Djokovic as the third-best player at the moment

"I'm gonna say Novak had the best year. He made the semi-finals of all four Slams at 38 years old. I think the answer is Novak, and I think it's a pretty easy answer," 2018 Wimbledon semifinalist Isner said on the Nothing Major Show.

Djokovic admitted that Alcaraz and Sinner were a step ahead of him at this stage of his career, but vowed to do his best to challenge them in Slams next year.
