Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye was sent off in the 13th minute of their match against Manchester United Monday for appearing to slap teammate Michael Keane.
Gueye got into an argument with Keane shortly after Everton had scrambled back in defense to short-circuit a Man United counter-attack.
After the play, Idrissa Gueye and Keane exchanged words and shoved one another before the Senegal international made clear contact to his teammate's face. The referee went straight to his pocket for a red card as Everton keeper Jordan Pickford tried to calm Gueye down.
The match was level at 0-0 when Gueye was sent off.
