Andrea Petkovic had an interesting revelation to make to Boris Becker during the latest episode of their podcast as the 2014 French Open semifinalist claimed that she dreamed about the German tennis icon coaching Ben Shelton and guiding the 23-year-old to becoming a Grand Slam champion and "breaking" the dominance of Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner.
The American, who celebrated his 23rd birthday in October, fully switched to pro tennis only in 2023 after reaching the US Open semifinal. Since then, the current world No. 9 has established himself as one of the better players on the Tour and is considered among the players who have the capacity to take the next step and win on the biggest stage.
In 2025, Shelton didn't win a Grand Slam but he accomplished some very notable things, like becoming a Masters champion in Toronto and breaking into the top-5 for the first time in his career. The American also reached his maiden Australian Open semifinal before losing to Jannik Sinner.

Petkovic: I dreamed about Becker becoming Shelton's coach and the American winning the next Grand Slam
"Sorry to interrupt, but I texted you a few weeks ago. I had a dream that Boris Becker would be Sheltons coach and he would win the next Grand Slam. Hed be the first to break the Alcaraz/Sinner dominance. I wrote to you that if that actually happens, I want a new job as a witch or fortune teller," the former WTA world No. 9 told the German tennis icon on the Becker Petkovic podcast.
As you probably know, Becker famously collaborated with Novak Djokovic between 2013 and 2016. During that period, Djokovic won six Grand Slams.
After being released from prison, the German tennis legend briefly worked with Holger Rune. While their partnership started in a promising way, their partnership ended in February 2024, after just five months of collaborating.

It remains to be seen if Petkovic's dream will make Shelton at least explore the prospect of adding Becker to his team.
