The Young Bucks have been instrumental to AEWs development since 2019, but it seems they were actually very close to signing with WWE at one point.
While speaking to Adams Apple, The Young Bucks revealed that they came very close to signing with WWE at one point. Matt Jackson said they were deep in negotiations, although no physical contract was ever put in front of them.
Nick Jackson added that WWE had tried to bring them in multiple times throughout their careers, saying, Not even at that time, but many times before in our career almost.
According to Matt Jackson, the closest moment was in 2019, as he said, Theres been a couple, but in 2019 was probably the closest.
When asked what made WWE interested in them, Matt Jackson explained that they had built a huge wave of popularity through their work in Japan and on the independent scene, with strong fan support helping push their momentum.
The Young Bucks signed multi-year deals with AEW back in 2023, so they will obviously stay with the company for many years to come. So while the Young Bucks joining WWE would have been an exciting thing, fans feel they are more suited to AEW and thats all that matters in the end.
Do you believe The Young Bucks would have succeeded in WWE, or were they better off building AEW from the ground up? Share your thoughts below!
