Desirae Krawczyk had a crazy story to tell about how one of her coaching partnerships ended as the four-time Grand Slam mixed doubles champion reveals she once fired a coach after she noticed the person in question drank 12 alcoholic beverages and then just told the hotel to charge everything to the American's room.

Krawczyk, who will be turning 32 in January, ditched singles long ago and has made a pretty nice doubles career for herself, winning 12 titles in women's doubles and also four Grand Slams in mixed doubles. Last year, she achieved a career-high ranking of No. 7 in the competition.

In the second part of 2025, Krawczyk's full-time partner on the WTA Tour was Storm Hunter. But before the American started to work with Hunter, she had an unpleasant situation with one coach who collaborated with her and one of her previous partners.

After concluding one of her campaigns in Indian Wells, Krawczyk was preparing to pay her expenses and leave the hotel. But then, she realized that the bill was higher than it should be.

Krawczyk: Coach charged 13 alcoholic drinks to my room... I confronted him and fired him

"I was playing with another player who brought a coach. We tried him. It ended because of a trust issue. We were at Indian Wells, and he handed me his expenses. The number seemed high. So I went to the hotel and got the receipt printed," the 12-time doubles champion said on The Player's Box.

"There were 13 alcoholic drinks charged to my room, added into his expenses. I was like, 'Oh, Im going to have fun with this.' I highlighted every drink and showed him: 'So Im paying for your drinks?' I lost it, but in a satisfied way. We stopped working with him immediately."

Krawczyk's lone doubles title of the year came in Singapore, where she teamed up with Giuliana Olmosi. The American finished the season as the 36th-ranked doubles player in the world.
