Carlos Alcaraz called "fake news" on the rumors of him debuting a signature Nike logo during the ATP Finals, but also hinted that "something is in the works."

Going into the ATP Finals, Alcaraz had won eight titles this year, including two Grand Slam titles. Also, the Spaniard overtook Jannik Sinner at the world No. 1 spot. Just before the start of the season-ending tournament, rumors started to swirl around that Nike had made a signature logo for the 22-year-old that would see the light of day in Turin. In the end, nothing happened.

Alcaraz: It was fake news... But we are still working on it

"It was fake news, to be honest. I'm still working on it, but I didn't say anything about launching the logo on the ATP Finals. So I'm still working on it. I had a few meetings and we're going in a good way, in a good path, to launch the logo as soon as possible. So, all I can say right now is I'm still working on it, but hopefully, hopefully I'm gonna get it soon," the world No. 1 told Sports Illustrated.

If you can recall, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer also collaborated with Nike and had their signature logos. Now, the time has also come for Alcaraz - who finished 2025 with a 71-9 record - to also get his signature mark.

Even before becoming a major tennis star, Alcaraz signed a deal with Nike in 2019. Last year, the Spanish tennis superstar and Nike extended their partnership for another 10 years.

Meanwhile, Alcaraz was slated to compete at the Davis Cup Final 8 in Bologna this week, but he was forced to withdraw after injuring his hamstring during his ATP Finals final loss to Sinner. After having an MRI, the world No. 1 learned that he was dealing with a bone edema and that playing this week would be too risky.
