Christopher Eubanks has announced that he is walking away from pro tennis at the age of 29, just two years after enjoying a breakthrough season on the ATP Tour.

Eubanks, who made his ATP main-level debut in 2015, enjoyed some success on the Challenger Tour and won three titles there before breaking into the top-100 for the first time in his career after reaching the 2023 Miami Masters quarterfinal as a qualifier.

Shortly after posting his best-ever result at the Masters tournament in Miami, Eubanks reached his maiden ATP final on the grass courts of Mallorca and won the title after beating Adrian Mannarino in the final. Then, a career-best Grand Slam result came for the American after he upset Stefanos Tsitsipas en route to making the Wimbledon quarterfinal. He also achieved a career-high ranking of No. 29 that year.

Unfortunately for Eubanks, he failed to continue his rise after his breakthrough 2023 season. This year, the American mainly competed on the Challenger level and posted only a 3-6 record on the main level. He also plummeted to No. 266 in the world.

Eubanks announces his retirement; Proud of his career

"If you had told this little boy from the Southside of Atlanta that he wouldve accomplished all that he did, he wouldnt believe you. 2 Time ACC Player of the Year? Yeah right. Wimbledon Quarter-finalist? No chance. An Olympian? Unfathomable. I was given opportunity to travel around the world and form incredible relationships all while fulfilling a lifelong dream of playing professional tennis. I cant put into words how blessed I have been. Is this absolutely the end?! Tough to say for certain but if it is, WHOOPTY DOO!!! Its been an incredible ride," the 29-year-old wrote on Instagram.

For the past couple of years, Eubanks has also been providing tennis expertise for Tennis Channel. So all the chances are that the 2023 Mallorca champion will remain associated with tennis.
