Emma Raducanu is still battling a foot issue that plagued her late in the season and she is withdrawing from two exhibition events slated to take place in the United States in early December.

On December 7th, Raducanu was due to face Wimbledon and US Open runner-up Amanda Anisimova in Newark, New Jersey. The 2021 US Open champion and the fourth-ranked American were also scheduled to meet the following day in Miami.

Following the British tennis star's withdrawal, Jessica Pegula was added as a replacement. So it will be the 2024 US Open finalist taking on Anisimova in back-to-back days.

What bothered Raducanu in late 2025?

Raducanu signed up for a full schedule during the Asian swing. And while she managed to appear in four tournaments during the Asian swing, the 23-year-old Briton was far from her best from the physical standpoint since she battled illness but also foot and back injuries.

However, Raducanu shouldn't have any issues fully recovering for the start of the 2026 season. If everything is fine, the former world No. 10 is expected to start her season by representing Great Britain for the first time at the United Cup, which kicks off on January 2nd in Australia.

Great Britain was placed in the same group as Japan and Greece. So Raducanu's opening two opponents in 2026 are expected to be Japanese four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka and Greek former world No. 3 Maria Sakkari.
