Organizers of the ATP 500 event in Rotterdam are working hard on providing a strong field for the 2026 edition. The prestigious indoor tournament has already signed this year's finalists, world no. 1 Carlos Alcaraz and Alex de Minaur.
World no. 3 Alexander Zverev will also chase the title, entering Rotterdam for the seventh time and the first since 2023. The German debuted at this event in 2015 at 17, collecting a mediocre 4-6 record.
One of the finest indoor players on the Tour has yet to find the winning formula at the ATP 500 event, reaching one quarter-final and experiencing five early losses.
Zverev played his first match in Rotterdam and 17 and fell to Roberto Bautista Agut in straight sets. He reached the last eight in 2016, falling to Gael Monfils in straight sets.

Dominic Thiem ousted his good friend in the first round in 2017 before the young gun fell to Andreas Seppi a year later. Alexander returned to Rotterdam three years later and lost to Alexander Bublik in straight sets, extending his poor run.
The German competed at this tournament for the sixth time in 2023 and suffered another tough loss. He struggled physically and lost to Tallon Griekspoor 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.
Zverev will seek a deep run in 2026, preferably after a solid Australian Open campaign. The 28-year-old finished the 2025 season inside the top-3 but without too many notable results.
He lost the Australian Open final to Jannik Sinner and claimed only one ATP title at home in Munich in April.

"In 2026, we again aim to bring multiple top players to Rotterdam. That ensures top-level matches every single day. With the world No. 1, No. 3 and No. 7 in the field plus Stefanos Tsitsipas and Tallon Griekspoor, we already have a strong line-up with several title contenders," tournament director Richard Krajicek said.
