Despite being on the back end of a five-game road trip and not having LeBron James, Gabe Vincent, Marcus Smart and Rui Hachimura, LAL powered to a 119-95 victory over Milwaukee.
It was without a doubt the Lakers most impressive win of the season and Doncic had nothing but praise for his teammates.
Its pretty incredible, honestly, Luka said. I think its pretty incredible. We played a back-to-back, I think me and AR played 40 minutes yesterday, we had a long flight, came in and played again. Everybody is tired, so just to come out and be up 30 at halftime, its incredible. It says a lot about the group.
The Lakers have been able to stay competitive regardless of who is in and out of lineup so far this season.
JJ Redick is a firm believer this will benefit the purple and gold in the long run.
Its a confidence boost for the group, he said. I think for certain players who, when were fully healthy may not play a ton of minutes or may not even be part of the rotation, it gives them a reference point. I think Nick Smith knows that we believe in him as a player. Were calling isos for him against the Portland Trail Blazers, who have great wing defenders. So I think its great for the group. With the possibility of us getting healthy, that certainly makes us excited. But then like I told you guys in training camp, we had 24 starting lineups last year. The soft tissues injuries, all that stuff, its just part of the NBA whether weve had an illness run through the team, weve had a number of guys that have played through it and a number of guys that havent been able to play through it. So those things are just gonna happen throughout an NBA season. But togetherness with the group and the intent of the group every night outside of a couple games has been really good.
