Carlos Alcaraz insists he is just "the same old Carlos" when he returns to his family home in Murcia and admits he still has to follow the rules imposed by his parents when he is staying in their house.

Due to a gigantic success early on in his career, Alcaraz quickly became one of the most popular athletes in Spain. However, the 22-year-old has often claimed that the fame hasn't changed him and that he still tries to be as humble as possible. Since tennis has one of the longest seasons, the reigning Wimbledon champion rarely finds time to return to Spain. But when he does, he stays in the same house where he lived before becoming a major tennis star.

"When I get home, I'm just the same old Carlos. Not the tennis player or the No.1 or whatever. I'm the same as always," the six-time Grand Slam champion told Mundo Deportivo.

Alcaraz: I have to follow house rules or I get told off

Alcaraz may be an extremely successful young individual, but that doesn't mean that he is allowed to do whatever he wants in front of his parents.

"At my parents' house, they always have rules and they want what's best for me. There are many times when they don't set a curfew anymore, but they do tell me not to be late, to do this, to do that. And when I don't do what I'm supposed to do, they tell me off," the world No. 1 admitted.

Meanwhile, Alcaraz is currently competing at the ATP Finals, where he defeated Lorenzo Musetti 6-4 6-1 on Thursday to finish Jimmy Connors Group with a 3-0 record. In the Turin semifinal, the Spanish tennis star will take on either Alexander Zverev or Felix Auger-Aliassime.
