AEWs first-ever Womens Blood & Guts match on the November 12 episode of Dynamite lived up to its violent billingand left more than a few lasting marks on the competitors involved. While the match ended with Toni Storm surrendering to save Mariah May, a new report now confirms that former AEW Womens Champion Jamie Hayter may have walked out worse for wear.
According to Fightful Select, Hayter reportedly sustained real injuries during the chaotic main event. One source noted that she got a little banged up, and may have chipped several teeth. Despite the damage, the same person added that Hayter powered through like a warrior:
Meanwhile, Skye Bluewho was busted open early and bled heavily throughout the matchis said to be doing fine after the event. Her bloody appearance set the tone for one of the most violent spectacles in AEW history, but she managed to avoid any serious injury.
The match itself featured barbed wire, broken glass, thumbtacks, and a bed of nails. With chaos erupting from the moment Skye Blue and Willow Nightingale kicked off the action, the final moments saw Toni Storm restrained as she watched May suffer a vicious attack. Unable to help and desperate to protect her friend, Storm surrendered, giving the win to the heel team led by Mercedes Mon.
The fallout from this match could be massive, especially if Hayter is sidelined. One thing is certain: AEWs women went to warand they left their bodies in the ring to prove it.
