Ons Jabeur won't be returning to tennis at the start of the 2026 season due to "a cute reason" as the Tunisian tennis star announces she is expecting her first child with husband Karim Kamoun.

Kamoun, who serves as Jabeur's fitness coach, tied the knot with the WTA star in 2015. Over the years, the WTA star several times expressed her desire to become a mother one day. However, she noted that it wasn't easy, considering that it would force her to be out of tennis for at least one full year.

But now, Jabeur and Kamoun were ready for that step.

"Took a little break to reset and recharge Turns out, weve been planning the cutest comeback ever. The court will have to wait a little longer, because soon well be welcoming our tiniest teammate. Baby boy joining the team in April," the 31-year-old captioned her Instagram post.

Jabeur stepped away from tennis during the summer

Jabeur, who plummeted to No. 75 in the world, went only 15-15 this year. And after retiring to Viktoriya Tomova in the Wimbledon first round - which marked her third consecutive loss - the former world No. 2 announced that she was ending her season to address her well-being.

"For the past two years I've been pushing myself so hard, fighting through injuries and facing many other challenges. But, deep down, I haven't felt happy on court for some time now. Tennis is such a beautiful sport. But right now I feel it's time to take a step back and finally put myself first: to breathe, to heal, and to rediscover the joy of simply living," the 31-year-old wrote on Instagram.

Since Jabeur's baby is expected to arrive in April, the Tunisian will likely target to return in late 2026 or the start of 2027.
