Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz were the protagonists of a practice session on the Centre Court of the Inalpi Arena two days before the start of the Nitto ATP Finals, scheduled in Turin from 9 to 16 November. It is no secret that the Italian and the Spaniard are the two most anticipated players in this edition of the Masters, which will also decide which player will finish the season at the top of the ATP rankings.
The 22-year-old from Murcia looked set to reach this milestone after winning the US Open and Tokyo ATP 500, but his premature elimination at the Paris Masters 1000 combined with Jannik's triumphs in Vienna and the French capital allowed the 24-year-old from Sesto Pusteria to return to No.1.
Sinner will have to win the ATP Finals undefeated and hope that his huge rival wins less than three matches in Turin to finish this year at the top of the ATP rankings, a feat that would be truly sensational considering that he had three months off from the professional tour due to the controversial ban inflicted on him by WADA.

The Italian ace's group also includes Alexander Zverev, Ben Shelton and one of Felix Auger-Aliassime and Lorenzo Musetti (who could still grab eighth place in the ATP Race if he lifts the trophy at the Athens ATP 250. He will face American star Sebastian Korda in the semifinals today). Carlitos on the other hand has been included in the group with Novak Djokovic, Taylor Fritz and Alex de Minaur.
The practice session between Jannik and Carlos was very spectacular and there was also a practice set between the two best players in the world, won by the current ATP number 1 thanks to a score of 6-3. Subsequently, they made a tiebreak which was won by the Spanish champion by 7 points to 3. As always when they play against each other, there was no shortage of spectacular shots.
