Barbora Krejcikova's 2025 season is not over after all after the 2024 Wimbledon champion signed up for a WTA 125 (Challenger) tournament in Angers, which is slated to take place between December 01-07.

Following back-to-back quarterfinal appearances at the US Open and Seoul, Krejcikova also reached the Beijing third round before retiring injured mid-match against McCartney Kessler. The following day - which was September 29th - the former world No. 2 announced that she was out of the rest of the Asian swing due to an injury. The general understanding was that the former world No. 2 was also effectively shutting down her 2025 season.

"Moments like these are never easy... I was excited for this Asian tour and was looking forward to every moment on and off the court. Unfortunately, I had to cut it short earlier than expected due to an injury. After trying yesterday, it became clear that it was more serious than I thought. I still don't know how long my recovery will take. I will return to Europe to meet with my medical team and focus on my recovery, step by step," Krejcikova wrote at the time on X.
