Rusev and Aleister Black are already taking more losses in their current WWE runs than they did during their entire time in AEW and the numbers are hard to ignore.
Since returning to WWE, Rusev has already wrestled 22 matches a noticeable jump compared to his time in AEW, where he only had 36 matches across five years. What makes it even more wild is that in just six months back in WWE, hes already lost almost double the number of matches he did in AEW.
During his AEW run, Rusev often felt absent whether due to injuries or creative disagreements that were often tied to not wanting to lose. Looking back, he was probably one of AEWs most expensive talents in terms of cost per appearance. Despite his reputation, he spent much of his AEW tenure either underused or off TV entirely.
Aleister Black is in the same boat. In just a few months back with WWE, hes already matched the number of losses he took during his entire AEW run a stat that would make any hardcore fan take notice.
Both men were protected in AEW. Now, theyre being worked and beaten at a much faster rate in WWE. Whether this is part of a long-term story arc or just the nature of WWEs booking machine remains to be seen.
