Ethan Page left it all in the ring at WWE NXT Halloween Havoc, and that included a nasty gash that wasnt part of the script. While fans speculated whether the blood was intentional to add drama to the brutal Day of the Dead Match, it turns out the injury was realand completely accidental.
PWInsider has confirmed that Page was legitimately busted open during the match when he was cut on the ring steps. The moment was not planned ahead of time, but it added a gritty layer of realism to a match that already looked like it was pulled from a horror movie.
Despite the cut, Ethan Page continued the violent North American Title defense against El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr., using chairs, trashcans, and even chalk to hold onto his championship. The finish came after Page spun Wagners mask around to blind him, threw chalk in his face, and hit a Twisted Grin through a table to retain the title.
The match got people talking, but the most important update is thisPage isnt expected to miss any time moving forward. The champ walked away battered but still on top.
Do you think this kind of raw, accidental violence helps elevate the drama in NXT? Or should WWE take extra steps to prevent it? Let us know what you think in the comments.
