Jannik Sinner is a two-time Vienna Open champion. Two years after his first trophy in the Austrian capital, world no. 2 bested world no. 3 Alexander Zverev 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 in two hours and 28 minutes.

Jannik arrived in Vienna following the Six Kings Slam and extended his streak, lifting hisfourth ATP title of 2025 and providing his 21st consecutive indoor victory. Thus, the 24-year-old remains in the year-end no. 1 battle.

The Italian retired in the third round of the Shanghai Masters due to severe cramps in brutal conditions. The San Candido native worked hard to fix the issue, although he experienced slight discomfort in the closing stages of the Vienna final.

As he admitted, Jannik felt cramps in the final games after a massive battle. Still, they were minimal, and he continued without issues, learning how to handle them following his Shanghai experience.

The favorite grabbed a late break in the final set to emerge at the top and celebrate his fourth ATP title of the season. They clinched three breaks in as many sets, with Sinner serving well in sets two and three.

He created eight breaks points and converted two to emerge at the top. World no. 2 landed 46 winners and 21 unforced errors, taming his strokes nicely and taking charge in the most extended exchanges.

Zverev broke Sinner in the fourth game of the opener and closed the set with a backhand winner at 5-3. The Italian secured an early break in the second set and fired a backhand winner in the second game for a break.

The 2023 champion landed an ace on a set point at 5-3, introducing a decider and extending the battle. Zverev saved two break points in the fifth game and stayed in touch.

"I experienced cramps towards the end due to all the pressure. However, they were minimal. I learned how to handle them following what happened to me in Shanghai, where I faced a similar situation.

Overall, it was not a very intense match. I served very well, which gave me a lot of energy. I felt good in the end, although I was a bit tired after such an intense week," Jannik Sinner said.
