The 2025 edition of the Paris Masters 1000 will be held in a new venue, because the organizers of the prestigious French tournament understood that a change was necessary to keep up with the other Masters 1000 and maintain this important status.
Unfortunately, the tournament had to cash in on the news of Novak Djokovic's forfeit, who will not be present in the French capital as had already happened last year. The former world No.1 clinched his 40th Masters 1000 title (his last so far) in Bercy in 2023, beating Bulgarian veteran Grigor Dimitrov at the end of a final dominated from start to finish.
Pioline talks about Djokovic
As everyone knows, the Serbian legend is focused only on Grand Slam tournaments at this stage of his career and his schedule has been very reduced again this season. The 38-year-old from Belgrade has played just 12 tournaments this year, lifting the trophy only on the red clay in Geneva during the spring, but that hasn't stopped him from hoisting himself up to third place in the ATP Race thanks to his consistency in the four Grand Slam tournaments (where he has always reached the semi-finals).

The 24-time Grand Slam champion who recently competed in the Shanghai Rolex Masters and the 'Six Kings Slam' in Saudi Arabia has confirmed his presence only at the Athens ATP 250 between now and the end of the season, which is why he could also miss the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin for the second year in a row.
In his press conference before the start of the last Masters 1000 of the season, tournament director Cdric Pioline was asked if Nole will return to play in Paris before the end of his career: "I hope we will see him again in our city. In any case, we are talking about a great champion who holds the record of wins in this tournament with seven triumphs. Time passes for him too and 38 years is a long time, but he is still competitive at the highest level and has reached the semifinals in all the Majors this year."
