Some WWE Superstars bring instant comparisons from Legends of the past. People like LA Knight understand this all too well. Chad Gable has dealt with this since he started, because Kurt Angle did it first in a lot of ways.
Kurt Angle and Chad Gable share a strong connection through their wrestling backgrounds prior to WWE. Both are former Olympic wrestlers who transitioned to professional wrestling, with Angle winning gold in 1996 and Gable competing in the 2012 Games. Both men also wear singlets in the ring, which cant be ignored by fans. Kurt Angle is well aware of the similarities between himself and Chad Gable as well.
During an appearance on the Ariel Helwani Show, Kurt Angle was asked about how fans have compared Chad Gable to himself. The Olympic Hero responded to say that he doesnt mind the comparisons, but Gable needs to find his own thing to connect with the fan base, whatever that may be.
Chad Gable is currently out of action with an injury. In his absence, the El Grande Americano gimmick has taken on a new life. There is even a stable surrounding that lucha libre influenced character. Only time will tell what his career in WWE does after his return, but Gables time in the ring isnt over.
We will have to see if WWE ever links Kurt Angle up with Chad Gable. Angle has already commented to say that he believes Gable could be a future World Champion.
