Jannik Sinner isn't hiding that he would love to finish as the Year-End No. 1 but admits it is pretty much "impossible" for him to achieve the feat under the current circumstances.
In Race to Turin - which serves as a barometer for the Year-End No. 1 - Carlos Alcaraz sits at No. 1 with 11,040 ranking points collected in 2025. The Italian tennis star follows at second place with 8,500 points.
This week, Sinner is competing at the ATP 500 tournament in Vienna. Then, the four-time Grand Slam champion is also slated to compete at the Paris Masters and the ATP Finals in Riyadh. The 24-year-old could possibly earn a maximum of 3,000 ranking points in those three tournaments.

Sinner on possibly beating out Alcaraz for the Year-End No. 1: Impossible
"For me, the end of the year is very important. Im very lucky because the ATP Finals are in Italy and this gives me a lot of energy with my home people... This year, its going to be impossible," the Italian tennis star admitted.
Last year, Sinner finished as the Year-End No. 1 for the first time in his career. The Italian spent 65 consecutive weeks at the world No. 1 spot before Alcaraz replaced him following their US Open final battle.
Meanwhile, Sinner beat Alcaraz 6-2 6-4 on Sunday for the Six Kings Slam title and a $6 million prize money. Later, the world No. 2 showed respect for the Spaniard by highlighting that his presence pushes him to do better.

"You think a lot about that. That's exactly why you need Carlos and many other players to keep improving, to keep looking up to certain players. Especially for me, this is Carlos," Sinner said following ther Riyadh exhibition final.
