WWE is always planning for its next wave of talent, and right now two of NXTs biggest namesTrick Williams and Oba Femiare drawing attention as possible main roster call-ups.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer broke down why both men have upside, but also why WWE may need to be cautious before pulling the trigger. When it came to Trick Williams, Meltzer admitted that his charisma and promo ability are undeniable. But he also noted the risk of rushing him into a top spot before his in-ring work is fully refined.
Meltzer then turned to Oba Femi, who has dominated NXT as a monster presence, but may find the main roster landscape a tougher challenge.
So while both Trick Williams and Oba Femi are viewed as prime candidates for a call-up, Meltzers analysis shows WWE is carefully considering how and when to make the move. For Trick, its about ensuring his in-ring game matches his charisma. For Oba, its about whether his monster aura can survive against established veterans and other giants on the roster.
WWE is clearly preparing the ground for its next generation of stars. The question is whether these two will be fast-tracked, or given more time to develop before stepping onto WWEs biggest stages.
