Corey Graves is officially back behind the desk on WWE SmackDown. After being taken out by Brock Lesnar in a storyline attack on the September 13 episode, Graves made his return during the October 17 broadcast at the Kia Center in Orlando.
Lesnars assault was positioned as the final blow in his feud with John Cena heading into Wrestlepalooza, and it left Graves out of action for several weeks. During his absence, Booker T filled in alongside Michael Cole to keep the commentary table intact.
But Graves didnt wait for a grand return segment instead, he simply reappeared on the October 17 episode, back at the booth where he belongs. During the opening segment featuring Cody Rhodes and General Manager Nick Aldis, cameras panned to the announce table where Graves was seen calling the show ,
Graves return signals not only his recovery but also that the Lesnar storyline chapter may be officially closed at least for now. While WWE has yet to announce if Graves will address the attack on-air in detail, his silent return suggests the focus has shifted back to the action in the ring.
Corey Graves return adds familiar energy back to SmackDown, but some fans may still be waiting for him to comment on Brocks assault or if theres more to come from that angle.
Do you think WWE missed a chance for a bigger return moment for Corey Graves, or was this quiet comeback the right call? Sound off in the comments and let us know your thoughts.
