AEW WrestleDream is set for October 18, but fans noticed right away that Kenny Omega isnt on the card.

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, that wasnt always the plan Omega was originally confirmed to team with Kota Ibushi in a tag team match for the pay-per-view.

The match was expected to pit the Golden Lovers against Josh Alexander and Hechicero, but everything changed when Ibushi suffered a devastating injury earlier this month. During the October 8 AEW Collision taping, Ibushi broke his femur and later underwent surgery, leaving him sidelined for the foreseeable future.

With Ibushi now out of action, AEW had no choice but to scrap the tag team bout. The timing is especially tough since Omega and Ibushi were already in the middle of a feud with the Don Callis Family, and their reunion as the Golden Lovers was just beginning to build steam.

Kenny Omegas absence at WrestleDream is a major blow for the event, but it highlights how unpredictable wrestling can be when injuries strike. For now, fans are left waiting to see when Ibushi heals and whether AEW will revisit the original Golden Lovers storyline once both men are ready.

Do you think AEW should rebook Omega and Ibushis tag match when Kota Ibushi recovers, or should Omega move into another direction while his partner heals? Share your thoughts in the comments.
