John Cenas retirement tour will be coming to an end in less than two months and fans are speculating about his final opponent. While nothing has been announced yet, a case has been made for Edge or The Rock to be Cenas last opponent.
While speaking to Chris Van Vliet, Peter Rosenberg talked about who would be the best choice for John Cenas final opponent. He explained that Edge stands out as Cenas greatest rival, especially during the height of Cenas career when he was the top babyface champion.
Rosenberg said that while fans might name The Rock or CM Punk, Edge was the perfect opposite of Super Cena and helped define that era.
Rosenberg added that among all possible opponents still active, Edge makes the most sense, even more than Batista. However, he admitted that its unclear if a match with Edge could happen.
Rosenberg also mentioned that he wasnt fully satisfied with Cenas last big moment with The Rock and felt theres only one way to make it right: a final match with The Final Boss. He said that another match between The Rock and Cena would perfectly tie everything together and give the story the closure it deserves.
We have reported that John Cena is currently scheduled to face GUNTHER in his final matchatWWE Saturday Nights Main Eventon December 13th in Washington D.C.To make matters even more interesting, The Rock even had a hand in booking the final match.
Whether John Cenas final opponent ends up being Edge, The Rock, or GUNTHER, his last match will mark the end of an era. So well just have to see who will end up squaring off against the Leader of Cenation once and for all.
