Juan Martn Del Potro has had many shining moments in his career and most believe that his career could have gone in an even more positive direction. Former US Open champion Gabriela Sabatini commented on the career of the Argentine tennis player who was a candidate for entry into the tennis Hall of Fame a few weeks ago.
During Del Potro's career, he met many high-quality and difficult opponents, and certainly the very fact that he played in the era of Federer, Nadal and Djokovic made his path to the top even more difficult.
Sabatini believes that the Argentine would probably become world number one if injuries had not been a huge obstacle in his career.
"I believe that if injuries had respected Juan Martn a little more, he would have reached the world number one, even though Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic were there."- she said.

Del Potro's career
During his career, the Argentine won many trophies, as many as 22 titles, but he also lost 13 finals. Del Potro won his last tournament at Indian Wells in 2018, playing brilliantly against the "Big Three".
However, a career filled with injuries caused the Argentine to think carefully about the next steps, so the 37-year-old decided to end his career.
Del Potro said goodbye to tennis last year playing in an exhibition in Buenos Aires, and his farewell was really emotional.
Famous faces of the tennis scene were present at this exhibition.
Gabriela Sabatini was also present at that exhibition and was delighted to be able to attend such an event filled with sadness but equally with positive emotions considering the mark that Del Potro left.
- It's a very special day, seeing Juan Martin in this last match, a lot of things are happening and Novak coming is extremely good. It's a spectacle to enjoy and support - said Gabriela.
