Seth Rollins has officially been pulled from his scheduled matches on WWEs Supershow tour in Japan, sparking even more concern that his shoulder injury is worse than anyone first thought.
Rollins was originally booked to defend the World Heavyweight Championship against CM Punk on October 17th, and then team with Jey Uso and Shinsuke Nakamura against Punk, Nakamura, and others on October 18th. Both of those appearances are now off the table.
On October 17th, CM Punk will instead face Dominik Mysterio. On October 18th, Punk teams with Nakamura to take on Bron Breakker and Bronson Reedwith Rollins nowhere to be found.
The timing of his removal lines up with reports that people inside WWE believe Rollins may need shoulder or rotator cuff surgery. While nothing has been finalized, one WWE executive did confirm that Rollins is definitely injuredthough the company hasnt made a call yet on whether hell be forced to vacate the championship.
Backstage, some remain cautious after Rollins misled people about his knee condition earlier this year, but others are convinced the injury is real. Many point to the sudden shift in storyline focus toward Breakker and Reed as evidence WWE is preparing to cover for his absence.
If Rollins is sidelined for surgery, it could derail the rumored big-money WrestleMania plans against CM Punk and Roman Reigns. For now, WWE is leaning on fresh faces like Breakker and Reed under Paul Heymans guidance to step into the spotlight.
Do you think WWE should strip Rollins of the title if he cant compete, or hold off until his status is fully clear? Share your thoughts in the comments.
