More and more tennis players are raising their voices regarding the tournament schedule, considering that this kind of calendar is unacceptable. Famous faces of the tennis scene, such as Carlos Alcaraz, have already expressed their displeasure several times.
On the other hand, it seems that the tennis scene needs more unity among the players, which Novak Djokovic also talked about.
The Serbian tennis player pointed out that the players are not united enough, being aware that it is the only way to put pressure on ATP and WTA.
Casper Ruud reacts
His opinion is shared by Casper Ruud, a Norwegian tennis player who emphasizes that it is necessary to invest time and energy. Ruud believes that Djokovic is telling the truth; tennis players have the freedom to choose their schedule, but it seems that they are economically motivated to perform.
This is precisely one of the reasons why many play a large number of tournaments during the year.
It is important to note that there are monetary bonuses that represent additional motivation for tennis players to compete. Namely, it is a bonus fund of 21 million dollars that is shared by 30 players who have won the most ATP points this season at the Masters 1000 tournaments and the ATP finals.

In addition, the top six players in the ATP 500 tournaments share an additional $3 million.
The Norwegian tennis player points out that no one will end up in prison if they skip the tournament, but he emphasizes that there is still an economic motive for playing. He particularly emphasized the tournament in Paris, which is held late in the season, saying that in the future he will think carefully and try to make his schedule look significantly different.
