Jannik Sinner lost the ATP throne to Carlos Alcaraz after the US Open, suffering four defeats in five notable finals against his greatest rival in 2025. However, the Italian maintains an incredible pace in the ATP semi-finals.
The 24-year-old suffered a five-sets loss to Alcaraz in last year's Roland Garros semi-final from two sets to one advantage. Since then, San Candido native has won 13 consecutive semi-final encounters and wrote history books.
Sinner became the first player to achieve that streak before turning 25 since Roger Federer in 2006, following the pace of one of the most accomplished players of all time in his prime years.
Between the 2003 Masters Cup and the 2008 US Open, Roger lost only four ATP semi-finals to Marat Safin, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Mardy Fish! During that stint, the Swiss Maestro embraced streaks of 13 and 34(!!) semi-final victories.
Jannik has matched that smaller streak following his brilliant run in 2024 and 2025. To make it even more impressive, the Italian has emerged at the top in ten notable semi-finals and three at the ATP 500 level!

He prevailed over Alexander Zverev in Cincinnati last year and overcame a slow start against Tommy Paul in Rome this year to extend the streak. Sinner ousted Novak Djokovic in the last four at Roland Garros and Wimbledon.
Returning to his beloved hard courts, Jannik defeated Terence Atmane, Felix Auger-Aliassime and Alex de Minaur in Cincinnati, the US Open and Beijing, matching Federer and adding his name to the record books.
The Italian chased another deep run at the Shanghai Masters. However, the defending champion retired in the third set against Tallon Griekspoor after severe cramps.
Sinner will return to action at this week's Six Kings Slam, facing Stefanos Tsitsipas in the quarter-final.
