Coco Gauff is set to give herself some time off from tennis activities as the Wuhan champion says she will first go to a music festival before kicking off her preparation for the WTA Finals.
On Sunday, Gauff became a first-time champion at the WTA 1000 tournament in Wuhan after beating Jessica Pegula 6-4 7-5. For the American tennis star, it was her first title since she landed her second Grand Slam title at this year's French Open. Overall, the world No. 3 now has 11 titles in her collection and she owns a remarkable 9-9 record in hard-court finals.
During the Asian swing, Gauff booked a place for the WTA Finals in Riyadh, slated to take place between November 01-08. As a result, the two-time Grand Slam champion doesn't have to play any other tournaments across the next two weeks.

Gauff: I'll enjoy for a couple of days... I have a lot of confidence going into the WTA Finals
I think Ill probably take a couple days off and enjoy. Im going to a music festival Im excited about. And then yeah, get ready for the final push of the season, and definitely it gives me a lot more confidence going into WTA Finals, especially how the mid part of the season went for me, especially in New York and everything," the 21-year-old said.
After revealing her plans to treat herself a little bit, Gauff also underlined that she is full of confidence at the moment and that she will be ready to defend her WTA Finals title.
So it gives me a lot of confidence to make that chance to try to defend that title. Obviously, winning it last year, I know how tough it is to do, so Im just gonna take it match by match, and hopefully you can end up with a trophy," the American noted.
