Daniil Medvedev admits he is "scared to think" about the money he had to give to pay various fines throughout his career and admits he would "cry'" if someone showed him his fines total.

Over the past decade, Medvedev has been one of the best players on the Tour. But the 29-year-old has never shied away from revealing his true feelings on the court or expressing frustration. That has led to numerous outbursts and meltdowns over the years.

In one of the most recent cases of that - which came at this year's US Open - Medvedev unloaded at a photographer and the chair umpire. The Russian's outburst lasted more than six minutes, and he was slapped with a $42.5k fine afterward. Earlier this year, the former world No. 1 also received a $76k fine by the Australian Open for two separate outbursts.

Medvedev: If they showed me all my fines, I'd probably cry

I'm scared to think how many fines I've paid throughout my career. This perfectly proves that in a way you're not playing for money. Because if I were only playing for money, Id never do anything wild on the court. But it's emotions, it's life, it's sports. If they showed me all my fines accumulated throughout my career, I'd probably cry. It'd be nice to live without fines but I'm an emotional person on the court, I can't help it," the current world No. 18 said.

Medvedev may have paid a lot of money in fines but his personality is a big reason why he has been one of the favorite players to watch across the ATP Tour.
