No. 3 seed Amanda Anisimova has just been through to her first Beijing final in an emphatic fashion after destroying second-seeded Coco Gauff 6-1 6-2 in an all-American matchup.

Right out the gate, Anisimova wanted to send a clear message as this year's Wimbledon and US Open finalist impressively took the opening five games of the match. In the sixth game, the No. 3 seed had a shot at bageling Gauff, but failed to convert two set points. However, she closed out the opener on her serve in the following game.

Just as she did in the first set, Anisimova also started the second set with a 5-0 lead. Once again, Gauff managed to avoid a bagel - but it didn't really change much - since the 24-year-old American stayed calm and sealed the win on her serve in the eighth game.

This was the first meeting between Anisimova and Gauff since 2022, and the older American now leads their head-to-head 2-1.

In the Beijing final, the third-seeded American will face the winner of the match between Jessica Pegula and Linda Noskova.

Gauff didn't manage to 'deliver a fight' against Anisimova

Before her Beijing semifinal, Gauff insisted she would be ready and warned her rival to be ready for "a fight."

"Obviously the further you go, the harder its going to get. In my next round I have two quality opponents. Its going to be a fight for that. I mean, maybe. I dont know. I hope so. I definitely think Ive built, or have a lot of matches that have built that reputation for myself," the 21-year-old said before the match.

"I cant quite know what my opponent is thinking. I definitely know on the physical side of things, a lot of people tonight want to go the distance with me. I definitely think maybe some opponents think about that. But I dont think everybodys thinking that when theyre on the court.

Meanwhile, if Anisimova wins Beijing, it will be her second WTA 1000 title. She became a WTA 1000 champion earlier this year in Dubai.
