Alexander Bublik has transformed his career in 2025, embracing his career-best season. The mercurial Kazakh, long known for his unpredictability and flair, has combined hard work with consistency en route to four ATP titles and a place in the top-20.

It all came after the worst period in Bublik's career between June last year and this May, marking an extraordinary turnaround after dropping from the top-80. The Kazakh rediscovered his game with renewed focus and belief, crowning it with his first Major quarter-final.

While fulfilling his potential, Alexander offered a glimpse into his personality off the court. He revealed a story of bying a Ferrari - an indulgent promise he once made to himself.

In typical Bublik fashion, he ordered it impulsively from the locker room! However, just as quickly, he sold it, realizing it brought no real joy or meaning. The episode perfectly encapsulates Alexander's evolution.

He is a player still driven by passion and spontaneity. On the other hand, he is increasingly grounded by experience. His newfound success now comes from purpose rather than possessions.

In his darkest time, Alexander even though about quitting tennis and heading home to enjoy. However, he made a promise to his coach and continued with hard work and dedication.

Bublik collected nine ATP wins by the Rome Masters this season. He claimed the Turin Challenger title on clay and carried that form to Roland Garros where he reached his first Major quarter-final.

Alexander backed up that result with the ATP 500 title in Halle over Jannik Sinner, Karen Khachanov and Daniil Medvedev. Returning to clay, the Kazakh conquered Gstaad and Kitzbuhel in back-to-back weeks and cracked the top-20 after reaching the last 16 at the US Open.

"My coach asked me, 'What do you want?' I said, 'Artem, if I make it into the top-20, I will tell you I'm great, I have really found my groove.' Before that, I thought I was a tennis fanatic. And then I reached the top-20.

I promised myself that if I could, I would buy a Ferrari. Even though I could have afforded one for a long time, I did not buy it out of principle. Then, retroactively, I purchased one online.

I was sitting in the locker room and ordering a Ferrari. However, I have already sold it, because I simply did not need it; it did not give me any pleasure," Alexander Bublik said.
