"It's more gifts than I've gotten on Christmas, and I was a pretty spoiled kid (smiling). It's just insane," Gauff said.

After receiving numerous gifts and presents from her fans, Gauff asked her Chinese fans to give her a nickname. On Thursday, the second-seeded American was in action - and to the delight of the locals - she beat Eva Lys 6-3 6-4 to progress into the Beijing semifinal. During her on-court interview, the 21-year-old was asked if her Chinese fans had figured out a nickname for her.
Somebody told me Im a wolf. The explanation, I guess, was how fierce I am on the court and how calm I am. So I guess its a wolf," shereplied.
When asked whether she would go by "Miss Wolf" in China, the American responded: I guess so. You can call me Coco I dont know."
By beating Lys, Gauff - who is the defending champion in Beijing - recorded her 10th consecutive win at the China Open. If the Americanwins Beijing for the second year in a row, she will lift her first title since conquering the French Open in early June.
