Felix Auger-Aliassime's season has been characterized by several ups and downs, but the Canadian player has certainly made steps forward compared to the last two years. He solved his physical problems and was able to work on his game, alternating excellent performances with quite surprising losses.
Thanks to his achievements in 2025, Felix returned to the Top 20 of the ATP rankings and shone especially at the US Open. In the last Grand Slam of the season, Aliassime reached the semifinals for the second time in her career and also put former world No.1 Jannik Sinner in trouble.
After being demolished by the Italian champion at the Cincinnati Masters 1000 a short time earlier, the Canadian star put in a much better performance on the iconic Arthur Ashe Stadium and surrendered in four sets after a spectacular battle.

Aliassime wants the ATP Finals
Auger currently occupies the tenth position in the ATP Race and is 630 points behind Italian ace Lorenzo Musetti, who would be the last qualified player at this time. It will not be easy for him to get a place in Turin, but Felix is willing to try until the end and is aware that he will have to achieve exceptional results in Shanghai and in indoor tournaments in Europe.
"My season was great at the beginning, then I struggled during the spring. I started playing my best tennis again in the United States during the summer and I can consider 2025 as a positive year," explained Aliassime before making his debut at the Shanghai Rolex Masters. "I will try in every way to secure a place at the ATP Finals in Turin, it would be a fantastic goal. I will have to play my best tennis and get a lot of victories, so as to put pressure on my opponents," he added.

He also recalled his clash against Sinner in New York: "That performance was encouraging, although I lost to the former world No.1 who was on fire at the time. I hope to continue playing at that level."
His firstopponent in Shanghai will be Chilean ace Alejandro Tabilo.
