Kenny Omegas showdown with Kyle Fletcher is officially offfor now. AEW has hit pause on the planned singles match, and it all comes down to concerns over Omegas physical condition.

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the company decided to hold off on the match after determining that Omega isnt at full strength. There were internal doubts about whether he could deliver at the expected level, especially against a fast-paced talent like Fletcher.

Fletcher, a key player in the Don Callis Family, has been a thorn in Omegas side for weeks, so the match was a natural next step. But AEW isnt forcing it. Instead, they pivotedand fast.

Omegas new direction kicked off with the return of Andrade on the sixth-anniversary edition of AEW Dynamite. Andrade laid Omega out and immediately aligned himself with the Callis faction, launching a new feud that allows AEW to keep Omega active without overextending him physically.

Omega worked a trios match earlier in the night before the post-match ambush. While hes back in action, the former AEW World Champion is still managing lingering issues, including diverticulitis, which took him out of the ring for a large chunk of 2024.

This creative shift protects Omega while still advancing his feud with the Don Callis Familyand gives Andrade a huge spotlight after his surprise return.

Is AEW smart to hold off on Omega vs. Fletcher for now? Or should they have pulled the trigger while the feud was hot? Let us know your take in the comments.
