
Hulk Hogan may have passed away in July, but the tributes to the wrestling icon continue across the worldand now Florida has taken it a step further. Governor Ron DeSantis has announced a lasting way to honor the Hulkster in his own backyard by naming a stretch of the Clearwater Trail after him.
Speaking with WESH 2 News, DeSantis explained how the state wanted to do something more than just a plaque or a street sign.
As part of this initiative, a two-mile stretch of the Clearwater Trailrunning between Oak Avenue and Coronado Drivewill now officially be called the Hulk Hogan Trail. The new trail will feature red and yellow signage in honor of Hogans colors, as well as fitness stations like pull-up bars to encourage fans to get active as they walk or run.
DeSantis said the project perfectly reflects Hogans influence and keeps his legacy alive in a way that embodies his trademark energy.
He added that the dedication will ensure the Hulksters spirit lives on far beyond the ring.
