Oba Femis shocking NXT Championship loss to Ricky Saints at No Mercy instantly sparked speculation about his future. Many fans assumed the sudden end to his dominant reign meant a main roster call-up was imminent. But a new update suggests otherwise.

In the October 3, 2025 edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that Femi is still expected to be part of the NXT brand moving forwardat least according to those currently in the know.

Meltzer also warned that WWE doesnt always clue everyone in when it comes to surprise call-ups, leaving even key insiders in the dark.

Femis loss at No Mercy came in a hard-hitting main event against Ricky Saints, who reversed Obas second Fall From Grace attempt into a brutal DDT before following up with another to secure the victory. The win marked the beginning of what Saints called The Absolute Era, while fans immediately questioned if Femis dominant NXT run had come to a close for good.

With no confirmed injury and now no confirmed call-up either, Femis future in NXT remains intactfor now.
