Taylor Fritz has important ambitions for the last part of this season, full of tournaments very suitable for his game as he already showed last year. The American ace who has had a season with too many ups and downs so far will have to defend the semifinal reached at the Shanghai Masters 1000 in 2024, without forgetting of course the final at the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin.
It's no secret that he loves this surface, where he's had the best results of his career, but his confidence has increased thanks to another secret. Fritz was the leader of Team World in the 2025 edition of the Laver Cup, staged at the Chase Center in San Francisco in front of an oceanic crowd a week ago.
The 2024 US Open finalist was decisive in allowing Team World to overturn the prediction of the eve and beat Team Europe for the third time in the last four editions. In particular, Fritz achieved a titanic feat against current world No.1 Carlos Alcaraz on Day 2 by defeating him for the first time in his career. He completed his amazing weekend by taking his sixth win in a row over Alexander Zverev, who was not at the top of his shape due to a back injury.

Fritz is really confident
Immediately after the end of the Laver Cup, the American champion had to move to Japan to participate in the Tokyo ATP 500. Taylor didn't have an easy run in this prestigious tournament, but he brilliantly overcame the difficulties and reached the semifinals (he will challenge his compatriot Jenson Brooksby tomorrow for a place in the final).
"I feel great right now and beating Carlos during the Laver Cup gave me extra confidence," Fritz confessed after his victory over Sebastian Korda today. "I realized that I can beat the best players in the world and I am ready to face the next challenges. My main goal continues to be to win a Grand Slam title and I believe I can achieve this feat," he concluded.
