The Canadian man accused of stalking WWE star Liv Morgan will remain behind bars until he stands trial. A judge has once again denied Shawn Chans request for pre-trial release, ensuring hell stay in jail at least until his November court date.
Todays court hearing ended just minutes ago, and the ruling was clear: for the second time, the court has declined to release Chan from incarceration. He will remain in custody until he stands trial, which is scheduled to take place sometime in November.
Chan is facing a serious charge of interstate domestic violence, after flying from Scarborough, Ontario, to Orlando, Florida, back in May and loitering outside Liv Morgans home for nearly two hours. Security footage shows him walking around the property multiple times, trying to open her doors, picking up an air rifle, and even leaving a note before leaving the scene.
Prosecutors painted Chan as a flight risk with no ties to the U.S., no job, and an expiring visa. They also cited his mental health issuesinitially denied, later diagnosed as a delusional disorderas further cause for concern. Their argument was that no release conditions could guarantee public safety or ensure Chan would appear in court.
Liv Morgan, whose privacy and safety were directly violated by the incident, has since made drastic changes to her personal life. She no longer accepts fan mail and now requires a police escort to her home.
Chan was arrested on June 3 after WWE security recognized him from Morgans home surveillance footage and alerted the FBI. He was officially charged on June 25 and faces up to five years in prison if convicted.
With the court refusing to grant him bail again, all eyes will now turn to the November trial that will determine his futureand hopefully restore some peace of mind for Liv Morgan.
