The 2025 Ryder Cup takes place from September 26 to 28 at Bethpage Black (New York). The most exciting week in golf, which pits teams from the United States and Europe against each other for the 45th time, will span three days and feature a total of 28 matches.
The Europeans have not won on American soil since the famous "Miracle at Medinath" in 2012. This time, Luke Donald returns as captain, having served as captain in the 2023 edition in Rome with very good results. Keegan Bradley leads the American squad.
Each match is worth one point, and matches that end in a tie award half a point to each team. The first team to reach 14.5 points wins the trophy. If the aggregate score ends in a 14-14 tie, the reigning Ryder Cup winner retains the title.

In Foursomes (4-match sessions), each team of two golfers plays a single ball, hit alternately by each player. The team that completes the hole in the fewest strokes wins the hole. One player tees off on odd-numbered holes, and the other on even-numbered holes.
In Fourball (4-match sessions), teams of two players compete against each other, each playing their own ball. The team with the best score wins the hole.
On the third day, 12 individual matches are played in match play format (holes won). Each match won earns one point for the team of the player who wins the win. In the event of a tie, each team receives half a point. Both teams submit a list with the order of play in which each of their players will play, and the pairings are determined accordingly.
