
Team Europe made a strong start to the campaign at the eighth Laver Cup in San Francisco. The blue squad claimed three of four wins on the opening day and forged a 3-1 advantage.
However, Team World made an impressive comeback on Saturday, clinching all four victories and turning the tables to enter the final day of action with a massive 9-3advantage.
Francisco Cerundolo defeated Holger Rune in the second duel of the day, remaining perfect at the Laver Cup. The Argentine clinched a6-3, 7-6 triumph in two hours, bringing valuable points for his squad.

Cerundolo claimed eight points more and had the upper hand behind the second serve. He hit well and landed 30 winners and 24 unforced errors. The Argentine clinched the opener with a single break.

He denied a set point in the closing stages of the second set and sealed the deal in the tie break. Francisco denied a break point in the first game of the match with a forehand winner.
The Argentine held at love in the third game with a service winner and moved 3-2 up with another powerful serve. Rune faced issues behind his serve in game six and netted a routine forehand to drop serve and fall 4-2 behind.
Cerundolo landed a crafty volley winner for 5-2 and closed the opener with an unreturned serve in game nine for 6-3 after 40 minutes. The rivals traded breaks at the beginning of the second set.
The Dane faced three break points in the fifth game. He denied them and held with a smash winner to remain on the positive side. He had a massive chance to secure a break in the next one.

However, Francisco saved four break points with fine hitting and held for 3-3. They served well in the next five games, with Holger opening a 6-5 advantage after a service winner.
Cerundolo faced a set point in game 12 and saved itwith a smash winner at the net. He held after deuces and introduced a tie break. The Argentine forced the rival's mistake in the fourth point for 3-1.
He landed a forehand down the line winner in the fifth point to extend the gap. Rune painted a backhand down the line winner in the ninth point and reduced the gap before earning a mini-break for 5-5.
However, Francisco earned a match point and seized it with a forced error at 6-5 to seal the deal and extend his perfect Laver Cup streak.
