Carlos Alcaraz has been considered a generational talent since the beginning of his career, having shown that he has truly incredible skills even when he was very young. The Spanish ace began to win very prestigious titles in 2022, when he lifted his first Major trophy and became the youngest number 1 in the history of men's tennis.

At just 22 years old, the star from Murcia has won six Grand Slam titles and numerous Masters 1000 titles, not forgetting the silver medal at the Paris Olympics just over a year ago. Thanks to his second triumph at the US Open less than two weeks ago, Carlitos is back in second place in the ATP rankings ahead of his huge rival Jannik Sinner and wants to achieve brilliant results in the latter part of this season as well.

Alcaraz had to work hard

There is no doubt that the six-time Grand Slam champion is the most anticipated man in this edition of the Laver Cup, scheduled at the Chase Center in San Francisco from 19 to 21 September. Alcaraz already led Team Europe to victory over Team World in Berlin a year ago and will be looking to repeat the same feat, with Yannick Noah as the new Team Europe captain (replacing Bjorn Borg) and Andre Agassi as the new Team World captain (replacing John McEnroe).

In an interview before the start of the event, the current world No.1 explained that he didn't feel predestined when he was younger: "To be honest, I never thought I'd win so much at my age. When I was 13-14 years old, there were several better players than me. They had achieved better results than mine and there was no guarantee that I would become a top-tier player. At the same time, tennis was everything to me and I knew I had to give my best to try to become a professional."
