Jack Draper had a really brilliant first part of the season, in which he won the first Masters 1000 of his career in Indian Wells thanks to a perfect run and entered the Top 5 of the ATP ranking for the first time with full merit.

However, injuries began to affect his performance again during the summer and he was forced to take several weeks off immediately after the Wimbledon Championships, in which he was eliminated by Croatian veteran Marin Cilic as he was not at the top of his form.

The young English starhad to miss the Masters 1000 in Toronto and Cincinnati, in which he could have scored several points, and gave his best to be ready for the start of the US Open, the last Grand Slam of the year (in which he had to defend the semifinal reached in 2024).

Draper will return at the beginning of 2026

Jack was only allowed to play one match in New York, before abandoning the tournament due to an arm injury. A few days ago, the world number 7 had to announce his decision to end his season early to completely resolve his injury and avoid worsening the situation. It will therefore be necessary to wait until 2026 to see him in action again on the professional tour.

Interviewed by the site called 'BetVictor', Mark Petchey expressed his candid view on Draper's current status: Sometimes you've got to put your faith in people. You've got a team around you, you've got to put your faith in them that they're going to come up with the right solutions. Its just so unfortunate hes had a very stop-start career but was on such a great run. Its pretty heartbreaking for him, for somebody that's put in the effort that he has and the sacrifice that he's got to this kind of juncture again.

The former British ace continued: Jack has obviously put in a ton of work in the gym which is an amazing effort. But is that part of the problem as well?
