Giannis Antetokounmpo has won MVP trophies, lifted the Milwaukee Bucks to an NBA championship, and built a Hall of Fame resume.
But after Greece defeated Finland 92-89 in Sundays EuroBasket bronze medal game, the superstar said this moment might top them all.
We did it. This is probably one of the biggest accomplishments that Ive ever accomplished as an athlete, Giannis said postgame as he fought back tears. I know Ive won an NBA championship, but theres no feeling like representing your national team and representing 12 million people that breathe and live this national team. This is probably the greatest accomplishment so far in my life.
He added, When I win the MVP, my mom is happy, my brothers are happy, and probably my agent. But when you win a medal, 12 million people are happy. You inspire 12 million people that anything is possible. Kids are going to say: Maybe one day I could win gold medal.
This is probably the greatest accomplishment in my life. #EuroBasket | #MakeYourMark pic.twitter.com/vaktRBOVw5

Antetokounmpo carried Greece with 30 points and 17 rebounds, sealing the win with a pair of free throws in the closing seconds of the game.
The victory delivered Greeces first EuroBasket medal since 2009 and their sixth overall. In tournament history, they now own two golds, one silver, and three bronzes.
Utah Jazz forward Lauri Markkanen led Finland with 19 points and 10 rebounds, nearly bringing his team all the way back.
Greece built a 17-point lead and still held an 11-point cushion with under two minutes to go, but Finlands furious rally cut it to one possession in the final seconds. Elias Valtonen had a chance to tie with three free throws, but he missed the last attempt.
Giannis grabbed the rebound and knocked down his own foul shots to put it away.
For Greece, the medal marks a major rebound after being routed by Turkey in the semifinals.
