Hulk Hogans inner circle reportedly tried everything they could to stop him from making one final, costly mistake. Before undergoing a high-risk neck surgery, Hogans family told him point-blank that the procedure could backfireand that his lifestyle wasnt built for the required recovery.
During a conversation with Danny Jones, Bubba the Love Sponge revealed Hogans loved onesincluding his daughter Brooke, son Nick, and wife Skyurged him to avoid the surgery altogether. The concern wasnt just about going under the knife, but what would happen after: Hogan wasnt the kind of man who could sit still.
Hogan had already been through a string of back surgeries, but his neck had mostly been left untouched. Bubba said Hogan described his condition in painful terms:
But the issue wasnt just the surgery itselfit was Hogans refusal to slow down. Bubba claims everyone around him, including daughter Brooke, son Nick, and wife Sky, urged him not to go through with it.
Their fears turned out to be justified. Hogan went under the knifeand just 46 hours later, he was already back on the road, doing autograph sessions and beer appearances across multiple states.
Bubba said Hogans habit of standing for hours at signingsbecause it made him look larger than lifefurther sabotaged any hope of recovery.
Bubba even added a jab at Hogans physical size and wear-and-tear, Terry had a huge head his head probably weighed 40 lbs. In the end, Bubba believes Hogans own ego may have sealed his fate.
