Brad Gilbert declares Jannik Sinner "outrageous" and says the 24-year-old is "a combination of Andre Agassi and Novak Djokovic."
Gilbert, who famously worked with Agassi and is widely regarded as one of the keys to the American tennis icon's success, was a guest on Andy Roddick's podcast. And while they were discussing the current level from the Italian tennis superstar and Carlos Alcaraz, the 64-year-old coach - who also guided Coco Gauff to becoming a Grand Slam champion - dropped quite a take.
If you put Agassi and Djokovic in a blender, you get Sinner. His level is outrageous right now, I am just shocked. What is more impressing is that he is nowhere near the finished product, Gilbert said on the Served with Andy Roddick podcast.

Gilbert: Sinner seems like a much older soul than he is...
The Italian, who turned 24 in August, has been working with coach Darren Cahill for years. And Gilbert has a great relationship with Cahill, so he perfectly knows how committed the 24-year-old is to hard work.
If you are 24 and if you are satisfied where you are, then thats what happens to you. But if you are 24 like Sinner who seems like a much older soul than he is, he is always talking about how to get better. Rafa was like that. He is very humble and very motivated to get better. I think that he has somebody like Alcaraz who if he doesnt get better might eclipse him. That keeps him motivated," Gilbert explained.

Since 2024 January, only Sinner and Alcaraz have been winning Grand Slam tournaments, with each taking four Majors. On the same podcast appearance, Gilbert said that they separated themselves from the rest of the group and added that he does not see anyone beating the currenttwo top-ranked players in back-to-back matches.
