Andy Roddick noticed one very interesting thing about Carlos Alcaraz's play against Jannik Sinner as the American tennis legend suggests the Spaniard might have watched what Grigor Dimitrov was doing with his slice versus the Italian in their Wimbledon match.

In this year's US Open final, Alcaraz was box office and his game featured everything. One of the things that he did successfully was slicing the ball en route to completing a 6-2 3-6 6-1 6-4 win.

If you remember well, Dimitrov endlessly sliced during his Wimbledon round-of-16 match against Sinner. And it worked exceptionally since he had the upper hand and led 6-3 7-5 before suffering an incredibly unfortunate injury at the start of the third set and being forced to retire.

Roddick thinks Alcaraz may have watched how Dimitrov played against Sinner

"He was unleashing on the ball. The short, kind of Federeresque slice was a different play. You have to think he watched that Dimitrov match, or at least it made an impact, because he was hitting that and mixing it up out of the zones," the American tennis legend said on the Served with Andy Roddick.

Further reflecting on Alcaraz's display, Roddick felt it was "the most aggressive" performance from the Spaniard's side against the Italian.

"He has so much variety and also mid-match adjustments. He hits that slice early, Sinner adjusts. So Carlos just starts pounding the ball, anytime he had Sinner in a corner, he was in behind it. He was as aggressive coming forward as I've ever seen him before. And the athleticism is just off the charts," the 2003 US Open winner added.

The former American world No. 1 also praised the Spaniard's serve by remarking that it was only getting better.

Alcaraz has now won four of his five matches played against Sinner this year and also leads their head-to-head 10-5.
