Alex Noren officially joins Luke Donald's staff. The Swede becomes the fifth and final vice-captain of Team Europe for the 2025 Ryder Cup, scheduled for September 26-28 at Bethpage Black, New York.
For Noren, this marks a return to a context he knows well. In 2018, at Le Golf National in Paris, he contributed two points in three matches to the European triumph, capped by a memorable 40-foot putt on the 18th hole to defeat Bryson DeChambeau in the final singles match.

Donald has thus completed his vice-captains, retaining four players already present at the Rome 2023 victory at the Marco Simone: brothers Francesco and Edoardo Molinari, Thomas Bjrn, and Jos Mara Olazbal. The Englishman remains faithful to his lineup: of the twelve players at Rome 2023, he has changed only one. Of the five assistant coaches, he replaced only one: Noren replaced Nicolas Colsaerts.

"It was a huge shock when I heard about it; I wasn't expecting it at all," Noren said. "I want to bring a positive attitude to the locker room and make my experience available. I've been playing for many years and I believe I can contribute."
The Swede will have a special bond with the team's Scandinavian players: Rasmus Hjgaard (Denmark), Viktor Hovland (Norway), and Ludvig berg (Sweden).
Luke Donald explained the choice as follows: "Alex will do everything he can to help the team. He's a humble guy; he never puts himself first. He's also a great friend: we train together at the Bears Club in Florida, the same place where other players who will be on the team prepare. This familiarity will be very useful."
With Noren's addition, Europe completes its vice-captains team ahead of the highly anticipated match against the United States, in a Ryder Cup that promises to be a thrilling spectacle on the challenging Bethpage Black course.
