Jannik Sinner says it is "amazing" that he has managed to make five consecutive Grand Slam finals but also admits he never thought he would be able to achieve such a remarkable feat.
12 months ago, Sinner defeated home star Taylor Fritz to become a US Open champion. Since then, the world No. 1 also completed triumphant runs at this year's Australian Open and Wimbledon, while he just missed out on the French Open title after failing to convert three consecutive championship points. On Friday, the 24-year-old handled the business against Felix Auger-Aliassime and beat the 27th-ranked Canadian 6-1 3-6 6-3 6-4 to return to the US Open final.

If you can recall, Sinner struggled at the start of his career to make a Grand Slam breakthrough as he lost a couple of his first Major quarterfinals. But since finally doing so at 2023 Wimbledon and then becoming a Slam winner at the 2024 Australian Open, the 24-year-old has been unstoppable on the biggest stage.

Earlier this year, Sinner successfully defended his Australian Open title. When he takes on Carlos Alcaraz in the US Open final, he will look to also claim back-to-back titles at Flushing Meadows for the first time in his career.
